Cosmolamps is a collection of reflections that have quietly taken shape in me over the three years since the release of my previous album, First Fish – and perhaps even long before that.
This year marks ten years since I began living in New York. Over the course of that decade, I have encountered countless landscapes not only in the world around me, but also within myself. Reaching this milestone, I felt compelled to turn inward and contemplate those inner landscapes with greater depth and clarity. That impulse became the starting point for this album.
At the heart of the record is “Time”, presented in three different versions that embody the past, the present, and the future. Together, they form the conceptual framework of the album. The compositions that surround them reflect the questions I have encountered along the way, the experiences that have shaped me, and the personal perspectives and responses that gradually emerged from them.
What began as a seemingly scattered collection of deeply personal memories has, over time, grown into something that feels less like my own story and more like a quiet reflection of something universal.
In the autumn of 2025, after giving my first performance on Tanegashima Island, I lay on the beach that night and looked up at a sky overflowing with stars. The Milky Way stretched silently overhead, and in that moment I was reminded of the distant night sky above Kuchinoerabu Island – the same sky that inspired First Fish. It felt at once familiar and impossibly far away, as though a memory had quietly found its way back to me.
Just as countless moments coexist across the universe, and the light of distant stars travels through time before becoming part of the night sky we share, the irreplaceable fragments of our own lives gradually gather, overlap, and weave themselves into a single landscape.
Even the smallest moments of our daily lives carry their own light. Like landscapes glimpsed from train windows, they can never be seen in quite the same way again, yet they remain etched in us forever.
It is my hope that Cosmolamps may invite us to notice the quiet lights that accompany each of our journeys, and to recognize, within them, a beauty that is at once deeply personal and profoundly universal.

『Cosmolamps』は、前作『First Fish』をリリースしてから現在に至るまでの3年間、もしくはそれ以前から私の中で静かに育まれてきた思索を集めた作品です。
ニューヨークで暮らしはじめて10年。この歳月は、外の世界だけでなく、自分自身の内側にも、さまざまな風景を描き出してくれました。10年の節目に立ち、自らの内なる風景をより深い眼差しで見つめてみたい。そう感じたことが、この作品の出発点となりました。
アルバムの核となる楽曲《Time》は、「過去」「現在」「未来」という異なる時間の相を表現する3つのバージョンで構成され、本作全体の骨格を形づくっています。それを包む楽曲たちには、これまで私が出会ってきた問いや経験と、それに対する自分なりの答えや視点を綴っています。
一見散逸でまとまりのない個人的な記憶の寄せ集めから始まったアルバムは、今では個人の物語を離れ、どこか普遍的な響きを帯びて聴こえてくるように思います。
2025年秋、自身初となる種子島での公演を終え、夜の砂浜に寝そべって満天の星空を見上げました。天の川が静かに横たわり、そこには『First Fish』で描いた口永良部島の記憶を思い起こさせるような、いつか見た懐かしくて遠い星空が広がっていました。
無数の瞬間が宇宙の中で同時に存在するように、遥か彼方の星々の光が長い時間を旅して、やがて私たちが見上げる夜空の一部となるように、私たちの人生に散りばめられたかけがえのない一瞬の断片たちもまた、重なり合い一つの景色を織りなしていきます。
何気ない日々の営みでさえ、列車の窓に移りゆく風景のように、二度と同じかたちで出会うことはできないと知りながらも、永遠に私たちの心に刻まれてゆく、一瞬の光を常に放っているのです。
それぞれの人生の旅路に灯る静かな光、深く個人的でありながら同時に普遍的でもあるその透き通ったうつくしさに、明日も気づいてゆきたいと願うのです。
